TLDR: The Employment Details section requires you to provide your employment status, role, income details, and evidence of salary or pension. Follow-up questions vary by employment type: employed, self-employed, retired, or unemployed. You will select a bank account using Open Banking to share bank statements and upload proof of income such as payslips or pension documents.
Employment Details
During this section, you will be asked to provide:
- Your employment status
- Details about your income and role
- Evidence of your salary or pension
First, select ‘Begin’ next to Employment details. Then select ‘Next’ at the bottom of the screen. You will then see a drop down box asking you to confirm your employment status. Select the box and pick the relevant option from the list. Select ‘Continue’ to move forwards.
Follow-up Questions
If you are employed by a single employer, you will be asked to share details about your role, including your title, when you started the position, and the employment type (i.e. full time, part time). After tapping ‘Continue’ you will be asked for details about your income, including the total annual amount pre-tax, how often you are paid, and how the payments are referenced on your bank statements.
If you are self-employed, you will be asked when you started your business. After tapping ‘Continue’ you will be asked for details about your income, including the total annual amount pre-tax, how often you are paid, and how the payments are referenced on your bank statements.
If you are retired, you will be asked to share details about your pension, including the annual amount pre-tax, how often you receive the payments, and how they are referenced on your bank statements.
If you are unemployed, you will not have any follow up questions.
Selecting an Account
After sharing details about your employment, you will be asked to share evidence of your salary or pension. This step uses Open Banking technology to allow you to quickly and securely share bank statements.
If you have already added an account in a previous section of the app, you will see it as an option available in the drop down list. If not, select ‘+Add new account’ on the drop down list, and then press ‘Continue’ at the bottom of the screen.
Sharing Evidence
The final step of sharing your employment details is uploading proof of your income, whether that is through sharing a payslip, or proof of pension payments. Select ‘+ Add Document’ where you will be prompted to share a picture or PDF of the document.
