Scanning your passport chip
To scan your passport chip, please close your passport and place it on a flat surface. Please ensure the front cover is facing up, and you do not have a cover on the passport.
Please place the phone flat on the front cover of the passport. Ensure they are touching and there is no gap between the back of your device and the front cover of the passport. Slide your device down slightly so that it matches the position seen below in the animation. The top of your device should line up with the middle of the passports front cover. Keep holding them together and then press 'Start reading'.
When the reading is in progress, you will see a progress bar or dots fill in on screen. When the reading is in progress, please do not move the phone.
After the scan is complete, you will see a copy of the details provided by your passport chip.
