TLDR: The final stage of the passport check is a face scan to verify the passport holder's identity. Users press 'Next' and 'Start scan' to activate the front camera, align their face within an on-screen oval, and follow distance instructions. The scan starts automatically, with the screen changing color during the process. After completion, users can return to their task list.
Scanning your face
The final stage of the passport check is to complete a face scan. This is to check that the person submitting the passport is the person it belongs to.
To complete the task, please press 'Next' and then 'Start scan.' The camera on the front of your device will then open.
You will see an oval on screen to align your face with, and some instructions on how close to be to the phone. When you are in the right position, the scan will automatically start.
When the scan is in progress, the screen will change colour, this is a normal part of the scan.
Once the scan is finished, you will have the option to return to your task list and complete any other tasks.
