What is a Right to Rent check?
A Right to Rent check is a mandatory verification in England that requires landlords or letting agents to confirm that prospective tenants have the legal right to rent in the UK before granting a tenancy.
If you are asked to complete a Right to Rent check in the Thirdfort app, this will involve confirming your eligibility, providing your ID document, name, date of birth and current residential address.

How can I complete a Right to Rent check?
To successfully complete a Digital Right to Rent check, you will need a British or Irish passport, or an Irish Passport Card. If you do not have any of these ID documents, you will have the option to state this in the app, which will close your check and notify the organisation that set up your check.
To get started with your Digital Right to Rent check, you will first be asked to confirm your eligibility. Select Begin to enter the task. You will then see guidance on what is required. Select Begin again at the bottom of the screen to proceed. Tap on whichever ID you are going to share, or select that you do not have any of these documents to complete this step.
After completing this step, other tasks will appear on your task screen to work through.
