TLDR: After starting the ID check, choose your ID type and photograph it by aligning it within the on-screen box, holding your phone vertically 20-30 cm above the ID. Review the photo for clarity; if blurry, retake it. Once satisfied, submit the photo and proceed to the next step to provide a selfie.
Photographing your photo ID
After starting the ID check you'll have the option to choose which form of photo ID you wish to use. When you have picked a form of ID your camera will open to take of photo of the ID. You do not need to leave the Thirdfort app to do this, the camera will open automatically.
Holding your device so that it can use the camera on the back of the device to take a photo, align your ID with the box displayed on screen. Please keep your phone held vertically, and 20-30 cm above the ID you are using. Ensure all four corners of the ID are visible. The photo may take automatically, or a button may appear to take the image yourself.
Submitting your photo ID
After you have photographed your ID, you'll have the option to review this. If the image is blurry or obscured, the task will ask you to take a new photo. Retake the image until it is as clear as possible. After 3 attempts, you will be able to submit the image even if the app detects that this may not be clear.
When you are happy to continue, submit your photo. You'll then be taken to the next stage to provide a selfie. You can read more here about completing this.
