Why am I being asked to provide bank statements?
If you have already started linking your bank using Open Banking but are now being asked to upload bank statements there are two things which may have caused this.
1) Thirdfort was unable to receive your bank statement
If this is the case, we can only apologise for any inconvenience caused. Although backed by the government, Open Banking is a new technology and to link to your bank, and we are reliant on the bank's technology.
In this instance, your statements have remained directly with the bank or banks you selected to link to, and have not been shared or lost.
As a result, problems can sometimes arise with other providers that are outside of our control. We've now asked you to upload your statements instead so that the organisation that requested your ID check receives all of the required information.
2) The Open Banking task was skipped in the app
if you chose to skip the task and opted out, we've now provided you with an alternative task where you can upload your statements instead.
Can I try the task again?
Unfortunately, if linking to your bank via Open Banking technology was unsuccessful, or if the task was skipped, this cannot be reinstated as part of your verification.
