Why do I need to explain where my funds are coming from?
As part of your verification, the organisation that requested your Thirdfort check may ask you to complete a Source of Funds task. This is a short questionnaire which will ask you to account for where your money is coming from for the gift. By law, when dealing with large amounts of money, solicitors and law firms have to understand where that money comes from.

Step 1:
To get started select to 'Start' the task from your to-do list. You will then be given a brief introduction to the task, when you are ready to begin please press 'Next.'
Step 2:
Once you have selected to begin the task you will then be given a set of criteria to confirm that the money you are giving is a gift. If you meet this criteria please press 'Confirm,' and you will then be asked to provide details of how much you are gifting.
If you do not meet the criteria please select the option 'No this gift is repayable or I have another issue' and you will then skip the task.
Step 3:
Once you have confirmed that this is a gift and the amount you will then be asked to confirm to who you are gifting the money. You will be asked to provide their full name, and once you have added one giftor you can add as many as needed by selecting 'Add another individual.' When you have accounted for all of the individuals receiving the gift please press 'Next.'
Step 4:
Once you have confirmed the individuals receiving the gift you will be given the opportunity to check the details provided such as the amount and individuals. Once you confirm these details you cannot edit these. If you are happy with the information provided please press 'Confirm.'
Step 5:
On-screen you will then be the option to 'Add Source' through this, you can then add all of the funds that you are contributing to the gift such as savings by selecting them from the list provided.
This screen will also display the funds you have already accounted for, and how much is left to account for.
Step 6:
Once all of your sources have been added please press 'Next.' From here you will see a confirmation screen before you submit your details. If you are happy that everything has been provided please select to 'Confirm.' If you need to go back and change anything please select 'I would like to review again.' Once confirmed you will be advised that the task is complete, and you can return to any remaining tasks.
