Why do you need my data?
Over the last 10 years, there's been a huge rise in fraud, leaving the legal industry particularly vulnerable. At Thirdfort, protecting organisations and their clients against this fraud is our bread and butter, which is why we built an app which enables you to complete an ID check quickly and securely from the comfort of your own home.
We partner with over 600 law firms and other regulated organisations across the UK to help verify and onboard their clients while making data security a priority.
Are you GDPR compliant?
We ensure that all data is collected, processed, stored and deleted in a manner that is compliant with GDPR regulations to protect your privacy.
Our systems and procedures have been designed and built with data protection at their core.
What do you do with my data?
There are 3 key steps when we process your data:
- We collect your information.
- We verify it.
- We compile a PDF report which we share with the organisation that requested your ID check.
Do you store my data?
We understand that it can be scary to share your data. That’s why we only store your data temporarily whilst you upload it and we complete your ID check.
After your ID check has been completed and shared with the organisation that requested your check, your data is permanently deleted from our system. Your data is then stored locally on your device, which only you can access.
Thirdfort does keep your mobile number for two years as standard, so you can access your account if you need to. However, if you’d prefer we didn’t do this, you can use the data deletion button within the app at any time. You can read more about how to request a data deletion here.
Who do you share my data with?
We share your data with the organisation that requested your ID check and with trusted third parties who we rely on to perform industry-standard checks.

How do you protect my data?
All data stored by Thirdfort is encrypted end to end using Google Cloud Services encryption technology. All data transferred between your device and Thirdfort (data in transit) is also encrypted using cryptographic keys.
