How to successfully scan your passports photo page
Step 1:
Select to 'Start' your ID check from your to-do list, you will then be given an introduction to the task. When you're ready to begin please press 'Next.'
Step 2:
The Thirdfort App will then show you an animation on how to position your phone above your passport photo page in order to complete the scan. When you are ready to proceed please press 'Next'.
If this is the first time you have used your camera to photograph something in the Thirdfort app you will be asked to give Thirdfort permission to use your camera. Please allow this, otherwise, you will not be able to scan your ID. (The wording of this may vary based on your device)
Step 3:
Your camera will then open, allowing you to view your passport in the app. To ensure your scan is successful we recommend:
- Holding your phone directly above the passport photo page
- Ensure only the photo page containing your details is visible on the screen
- Avoid holding your passport under a direct source of light, such as a lamp or window, as this can create glare.
As the app scans your passport a box should appear around the photo page on the screen. When you see this please hold still, and the scan will then automatically complete.

Stage 2:
